Looking for a meal that offers premium nutrition for your dog? Then our Goat Bowl is a great pick for you, with several key benefits offered by this range of ingredients.

The Turmeric and Omega-3 Rich Oils (such as the Flaxseed Oil) offer both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant support. Turmeric is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory that can help manage chronic inflammation, which is beneficial for dogs with conditions like arthritis or allergies. The balanced omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of 1.17:1 further supports anti-inflammatory effects and promotes healthy skin and a shiny coat. Additionally, these ingredients provide antioxidant support, protecting cells from oxidative stress.

Meanwhile, the Goat meat and organ meats are top sources of high-quality protein, essential for maintaining strong muscles. Goat heart is particularly rich in taurine, an amino acid crucial for heart health.

Finally, ingredients such as the Butternut Pumpkin, Beetroot and Spinach are rich in dietary fibre, which promotes healthy digestion and regular bowel movements in dogs. Butternut and beetroot help in maintaining a healthy gut and support liver function, ensuring that dogs receive the full nutritional benefits of their diet.

Goat Meal FAQs

How do my 5 Hounds meals stay frozen during shipping?

Every order ships frozen in an insulated box with ice packs via refrigerated courier, so the cold chain holds all the way to your door. You'll get tracking notifications before delivery. Move the pouches into the freezer as soon as your box arrives.

Can I mix the Goat Meal with my dog's current food?

Yes, that's the recommended way to transition. Start with a small portion of Goat mixed into your dog's existing meal and increase it gradually until they're eating 100% 5 Hounds.

How do I transition an allergy-prone dog onto Goat?

Transition slowly, ideally over 7 to 10 days instead of the usual 5 to 7, so a sensitive gut has time to adjust. Dr Will's team can guide you through a slower plan if needed. Important: immediately pause the transition if you notice signs of upset, including vomiting or diarrhoea. If these symptoms persist or you’re at all concerned, contact a trusted veterinarian.

Is the Goat Meal suitable for puppies?

Yes. Puppies receive a version with adjusted nutrient density through the Puppy Club, supporting healthy growth on the same hypoallergenic base.

Where does the goat come from?

Our goat is wild-game harvested in Australia from feral populations. Feral goats are considered an invasive species that cause significant agricultural and environmental damage, so humane wild harvesting helps restore landscapes and native wildlife while giving your dog a clean, low-carbon, naturally raised protein. All harvesting partners strictly follow humane handling practices. More detail on our Farming Partners page.

How do I confirm the recipe suits my sensitive dog?

Every ingredient and supplement is listed in full so you can cross-check the label against your dog's known triggers or share it with your vet.

How is the Goat Meal cooked?

Lightly cooked at 75°C using the sous vide method, then flash frozen. Just enough heat to make the goat mince, heart and liver safe while keeping them easy to digest for sensitive dogs.

Is the Goat Meal nutritionally balanced?

Yes. The Goat Meal is formulated to meet FEDIAF and AAFCO complete-and-balanced standards for both adult dogs and puppies. Goat mince, heart and liver bring complete animal protein and taurine, balanced with butternut pumpkin, spinach, carrots, beetroot, blackberries, chia seeds and flaxseed oil for fibre, antioxidants and omega-3s, plus a supplement stack of calcium carbonate, zinc, magnesium and vitamin D (with extras in the puppy version). Adult ratios: 1.18:1 calcium to phosphorus and 1.16:1 omega-6 to omega-3.

How should I store the Goat Meal?

Frozen until needed, thaw in the fridge overnight, serve within 4 days in an airtight container. Do not refreeze.
